The next steps in our successful line of climbing course series. So you learned to climb and have been practicing indoor and outdoor and are wondering what the next step could be? Multi-pitch climbing of course! In this course, we will learn the skills required to take your outdoor climbing to the next level and allow you to get started on some intriguing adventures. Indoor climbing and climbing gardens are the entry to sport climbing, whereas multi-pitch climbing is the beginning a whole range of outdoor adventures!
In an effort to ever increase our outdoor skill set, we learn how to conquer walls that are higher than our rope is long. This skill will not only come in handy for summer tours but is also essential in mixed climbing conditions, where ice and snow may be mixed in as well. Future mountaineering tours may also include more difficult climbing beyond a single rope length. This skill set will open up even more tours for us in the Swiss Alps.
Whether you are still an indoor climber or have already felt the excitement of going outdoors, if you have the experience, then this is your next adventure! After all, why stop at a single rope length? Sure, the indoor walls only go to a certain height, but outdoor, the climb can be almost endless. But if you want to reach these heights, you should know how to properly belay when you reach the length of your rope.

Requirements
Usually, my events are open for anyone to join, with no previous skills required. However, this course is only for people who have completed the basic course with and/or have been climbing with us and have a good command of belaying lead climbers. You have all the relevant equipment for outdoor climbing, including quickdraws.
Itinerary
The course will take place on Saturday and Sunday, but to make sure we can have an early start, we are meeting on Friday already. As the Bächlitalhütte has tons of climbing gardens around it, we can take the opportunity and get used to climbing on rocks again in case you have been spending too much time indoor climbing! This is a great opportunity to warm up and get used to all the climbing gear again. Saturday will be our theory day, where we will learn the new knots and how to build a stand at one of the climbing gardens with an easy route. Each Team will get to try out the theory at least once on a two-pitch route or so. We will also cover how to self-rappel on that occasion. On Sunday, we will put into practice what we have learned and go on a proper multi-pitch route in the area.
